Glasnevin Burials

Amongst the sprawling beauty of the Victorian garden cemetery in Glasnevin lie some of Ireland's most extraordinary figures. Just as important to us are the stories of the ordinary citizens of Dublin, and the people that mean most to their family and friends. We continue to welcome all people and offer burial options and plots throughout the cemetery.

    How to Arrange a Burial

Your first port of call is to contact a Funeral Director who will assist you in planning.

When it’s time to arrange a funeral, if the deceased wished to be buried, you will need to own a burial plot or grave. A grave can be bought at the time of arranging the funeral, but more frequently nowadays people are securing a grave in advance for either themselves or their family. Unlike some cemeteries, a grave or graves can be purchased in advance in the Glasnevin Cemetery.

    Family Service and Grave Selection
Our experienced staff are here to advise you, whether you have an existing family plot or wish to discuss options for a new one. Glasnevin Cemetery is able to offer burial space for new graves for decades to come.

In the older parts of the cemetery, burial plots are available in the Dublin Section, Garden Section and St. Pauls. Newer areas have been developed in recent times to provide further options including Old Finglas and St. Mobhi's sections.
