    Frequently Asked Questions

Yes. While there's often a misconception that you can only buy a grave upon the death of a loved one, this is not always the case. You can buy a grave at any time, planning for the future many years in advance.
Yes. We have a wide range of options available across our cemeteries to enable you to purchase a grave that suits your needs. The number of burials in the grave varies on both the cemetery and the specific area. It's important to think about how many burials you would like to provide for before you purchase the grave.

Depending on the location and the cemetery itself, you may also have the option to purchase plots alongside each other if you wish.
The grounds team of Dublin Cemeteries Trust will maintain all graves purchased in advance as part of our cemetery landscaping and maintenance programme.
