Understanding Cremation

We're Ireland's first cremation providers, and have been supporting families with compassion since 1982.

    Choosing Cremation

Choosing cremation offers families a flexible and personal way to honour a loved one, with options for memorialisation that suit individual wishes, beliefs and traditions. It allows for meaningful services, a range of remembrance choices, and the freedom to remember in a way that's right for each family.

    Understanding Cremation Options

Choosing between burial and cremation is a personal decision, and understanding the process can help you determine what feels right for you and your family.

    Frequently Asked Questions

A cremation service is very similar to a burial service. The service is normally 20 minutes, but we offer extended services of up to 50 minutes for families who want to include more music, prayers, or poems. At the end of the service, the coffin is normally hidden from view by curtains or moved to a separate room.
After the service, the coffin is taken to the crematorium. The body and coffin are both cremated. The ashes you receive consist of the remains of the deceased.
Most Christian denominations, including the Roman Catholic Church, allow cremation, as do Sikhs, Hindus, and Buddhists. Some religions, such as Orthodox Jews and Islam, do not permit cremation.
Generally, cremations are less expensive than burials because there is no need to purchase a grave plot or pay interment fees for existing plots. Your Funeral Director can discuss the specific costs and options with you.
